Come close to me my beloved; very close,
Let our shadows merge together in darkness.

Let our hearts beat with each other,
We are in an embrace, skin to skin.

Steal your breaths from me and let me steal yours,
Together we move up and down together; storms of passion dance!

Tattoo ourselves on one another, forever,
Your teeth sunk in me and mine in you, deep indeed!

Flames of love turn hotter than hell’s,
Embers of lust fly, burning us; damned to the core!

Our bodies are crushed in high tides of wildness,
As we battle to wrest our souls from one another’s grip.

Drowning in the seas of our own sweat,
We sail on each other’s body; making love!

The sap of life courses in my veins now,
I taste the elixir from its fountain; your lips!

Identities are lost, somewhere beyond everywhere,
Drunk on spirit of our souls, existence reels in a trance.

An unquenchable blood thirst; famished I am for your flesh,
Sands of eons trickle by, yet the hunger remains alive; for more!

Highest of gods I am; an immortal warrior!
In the arms of my victor, I shall sleep tonight….

Hookah

The pipe of love, I pick in my hands,
Quietly I savour the dusky smoke of life,
From the hubble-bubble, made of my brittle dreams.

Embers of time, slowly burn;incense of my hearbeats rise
Suffused of the inebriating aroma; of ripe apples ?
In dreamlands, far away, my soul happily flies.

With each hearty puff, a tender intoxication mingles,
Into the crimson ale, coursing through my veins.
A cocktail of joys and sorrows brewed, ages.

Ashes, flakes of memories, silently collect on top,
So soft! I tenderly touch.Yet they singe the fingers!
I simply blow them away, into oblivion.

Air,Water and fire, all jumbled together in harmony!
Yet seems like cosmos arranged in a bizzare mix of paradox.
Silently I watch the bubbles go up and down...

Puff, puff, puff !!!

Hmmmm

Well, it has been a long long time since I posted something on my blog. Why i write blog or anybody for that matter will always remain a mystery to me.Maybe we all want that piece of cake, which Mr. Andy Warhol immortalised as '15 minutes of fame' or maybe there is some spiritual purpose.

I think they might as well be like marks u put on a jungle trail..so that u can find ur way back. Only in this case there is no way back. Time is a forest that keeps on growing like some stubborn bush. And then these blogs will become like old sepia toned photographs in the Album as we had in the olden days.

May be U will come back , have a look and sigh at the good ol' days when something churned in u to type so many words, the meaning of which even u will not be able to comprehend after u have written them.Yet it is always heartwarming to come and have a sneak-peek at these frozen thoughts that have ran amuck in my three and a half pound brain for sometime and forced me to put them down on this electronic marvel of internet.

Right now, as I type all this, I am sitting in my company, Yokogawa's Saudi Arabia office. it is a nice place, save for the heat and the sand-storms that I have seen in a few days. The whole of world in a dusty haze as someone has given a good beating to an old dust-laden bedsheet. A fine spray of particulate suspended throughout the atmosphere, making it look like a hallucination. The work also is going at a slow pace in the office amidst the chaotic business issues.
My life itself has gone a little topsy-turvy. Though the reason I cannot disclose here, a few people know about this and I hope everything goes on smoothly without anybody being hurt, including me. On this trip I have seen how the world makes lying masks out of men and the selfishness is raw and scathing.

Reading only J. Krishnamurti; wish could have met the man and have a walk with him.The words are so simple and direct that they slip through the comprehension, which has of late become crooked. I remember a song by Enigma. It is called 'Return to innocence'. How fit a song!
Something is getting lost as the heart's sap of innocence dries in the sands of so called practicality and normalit. The quagmire thus forming corrupts everything pure, all around. the residue left is hatred, envy and anger.

Is there a way out of all this, not only for me but for all of us. Some want to find it and others are either plainly oblivious or not bothered to understand. Not that I claim to get the full meaning, yet I feel I am trying to.

God ! i must be going mad, with all this mad blabbering and typing.Hope no one reads this blog..
Am stopping here..hope to return sometime with a calmer and saner mind..

Adieu...

I stand on the edge of the cliff, land beneath my feet,
Down below, the tempestuous sea roars, seething and churning to the core.
Way above me, are the black sheet of skies, bedecked with pearls of stars
And the moon hangs like a solitaire, glowing dimly as a candle light.

Clouds waft away in the horizon, smoke rings from my mouth as if,
The salty smell of the cold breeze in my nostrils; thirstily, for more I sniff.
A silent silence echoes deep within me, deafening the core of my existence,
I clasp my ears, lest I swoon in a trance of this quiet solitude, no escape from thence.

The winds whisper treacherous songs of the sirens, I stealthily long to hear,
A lullaby, to lure the tired mind and soul in an eternal sleep; to me it’s so near.
Moonlight now blinds my eyes; I can’t bear separation from the enticing dark,
Waves understand my agony perhaps; they shriek for the pain in me. Hark!

Countless memories and a hundred unfinished nightmares huddle together to clutch me,
And scream and howl; a thousand banshees they are, dancing to the Devil’s tune in glee.
The hounds of hell and the demons of my being, join them to rip me apart,
I stand smiling, watching them tear and eat and drink the blood and flesh of my heart.

Smoked the day’s last cigarette and I tighten my jacket; the chill, in my throat, raises a lump,
I walk to the edge one last time, look below in to the abyss, close my eyes and Jump!!!!

A song for me

On the wings of my spirit, I shall rise again,

From the black abyss, of my lost self.

Deep and dark have the forsaken paths been,

I have long walked all alone, in moonless nights,

Searching for a dawn, where a sweet sunlight,

Of peace and hope welcomes me, all smiling.

A burnt and parched stretch of earth I have long been,

Where are those torrents of Love, to wash my pain and sins?

Yet in the arcane, forgotten forests of my heart,

A nightingale still croons the songs of eternal love.

I shall stand on the snow clad peaks, the silence of space about me,

And on the flute, with the breaths of life, play a note of final bliss.

A song of the pearl

I can't see the moon, I know my love
But I can waltz with you on its silken silver beams.

A gentle kiss of summer breeze, a cool caress of silently flowing river
My skin feels them, as your skin brushes with mine.

Barren, parched and deserted mass of earth was my life before you came,
Deluged in torrents of your love, I am alive once more.

Paths I walked all alone till now, will have the same ups and downs,
But for the journey ahead you are my guide, and you're my only destination.

Can a truth be so surreal, that all my dreams seem now unreal?
Is it all but a play in my sleep, I haven't woken from?

Yet I know I feel like heaven every morning,as I wake up next to you,
And feel your arms around me when I snuggle in warmth of your chest.

Darkness is my reality,my destiny;a long night for all my life till eternity,
Yet your smile lights a lamp somewhere in my heart. Oh, it's so bright all around!

I do not know of the soul, of prayers and the almighty gods,
If to love you is wrong, I never want to be right even.........

P.S.-- The Protagonist of this Poem is a Visually challenged girl.
And she is in love..

I guess you know that pretty much by now :)

Changes and Challenges..The Indian Woman

Her whole life is one long stillness of prayer.

The word 'prayer' is what sums up a life lead well and truthfully, is what I feel. Just let it be one of silent and humble devotion. The only true way that my religion requires for salvation, freedom, nirvana or mukti or whatever you may call it, is to free oneself of desires and possessions.

When you pray and you truly pray, not the usual standing before god and begging for all material things instead of worshipping, will you find that freedom.

I look upon a true Hindu woman and her life as a personification of the word prayer or a better 'Aradhana' , as in Sanskrit. She literally gives her entire life in all of hers, as a mother, sister, daughter and beloved wife for the happiness and comforts of the ones she loves. not a single demand for herself, even when she is selfish, it is for someone who she loves and not for her own. That is the the ideal of Hinduism in all its hidden glory, giving up our egos and comforts for others.

And yet these hundreds of years of selfless sacrifice have brought our race to nothing but to look upon women as something of a commodity, a possession. She is a thing and not a sentient being, who is to work ceaselessly for the comfort of man. she is not to have a say in her life, all of her life.

Most males and Indians are no exception, rather more aggressive in this respect, suffer from a false sense of mastership. they have over generations come to believe that women are created to serve and please them only. We comfortably forget that our mothers, sister, wives and daughters do not obey or follow us only because of our 'Manliness' alone. They do it more so because of the love they possess, for which they are ready to vanquish their egos and themselves too. May be it is selfless or selfish, but that is the case in most instances.

However these long times of servile love has imbued both men and women with decadence. Much as men can't handle strong and independent women, the fairer sex has also learnt to forgo correct and right things for the sake of 'Family' as well as their own selfish nature; the latter being a by-product of sense of self preservation. And each successive generation of parents and teachers have only reinforced these beliefs in the coming ones with their skewed visions and teachings.

The result? We have a society where men are considered inferior to each other and women, to all men; for 'the hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world'. And when those hands themselves are weak, what do we expect them to raise other than a race of bigots and maniacs. Those who are never given a choice in their lives, what education and culture will they give to their offspring save fear and hidden malice and distrust.

And this has created a paradox in recent times and more so with our generation. the older ones, our mothers and all are still rooted to the old and orthodox ideas of their inherent inferior position in family in family and society. The newer generations however fare no better and are caught in a doldrums as if. Most of them coming from 'strict' and middle class families when living, reading and working in the home towns are typically the 'Good girls'. And these same women when away from families are easy preys to a hundred temptations, waiting to beguile and destroy them.

And famished as they are, for the simple wants of freedom to think and choose, many cross over the lines just trying to experiment or have fun. the simplest evidence to illustrate these are the demographical data which clearly show the rise of smoking and drinking among women, not only in big metros but all over the nation. These two vices earlier considered the supreme taboo are now termed as casual and cool. And these are eating into the very roots of our culture and civilization as Hindus and Indians as well. Various social magazines proudly carry out sex surveys that celebrate 'the coming of age of the Indian women' . Replete with lurid articles on the ever increasing promiscuity in our country and new 'brave' concepts as 'Live-in relations' , where both men and women are reduced to the state of mere concubines or as in Hindi the word 'Rakhail' I do not know what they are trying to prove. The popular modes of entertainment viz. television and cinema seem to harp on the axes premarital and post marital relationships and other such misguided openness. And the phenomenon are no longer confined to large cities and metros, but also common in the smaller towns.

A question however arises. Are women only to be blamed for this condition? To a large extent we may use the doctrine of self responsibility and other such things but everyone knows the adage “You need two hands to clap.” So the society must accept the other half of the responsibility. A horse if kept in confinement for long, will naturally hesitate to walk into a open space even if left free. Yet after a few half hearted canters, it will run in every direction without knowing where to go. Too thirsty a man drinks water in large gulps not caring about the taste and quality. Therefore, it is quite natural that our womenfolk the modern, educated and self reliant, but away from the family are prone to practises which are physically and emotionally destructive.

All of this raises a need for a solution if there is one. Is it ? I think there is. however it will take some time. When a river breaks a dam, the first rush always brings the filth and silt which has been collecting against the wall for so many years. Similarily, this ongoing upheaval and change in the women around us is but normal sign of the process in motion. This eruption of so called 'repressed sexuality' and other forms of femine transformations, both good and bad. However as the flow come to a normal level in due course of time, the river will become life giving once more.

It is our collective responsibility to understand and assimilate the good things that have come from these transformation. All of us the parents, teachers, friends, colleagues and most of all, each individual especially the modern Indian women must understand their rights and roles. Theirs is a delicate and very important role in our culture. they must learn to get their rights as responsible adults and do their rightful duties.

We want to go back to the days of Savitri the ever pure and ever free, who chose her own husband fully knowing the consequences. Let the daughter of Modern India be once more Rani ahalya bai, Jhansi Rani Laxmibai and virago chennama of Kittur. No doubt we have modern examples of Indira Gandhi, but these are far and few. The age old gender bias and the religious narrow-mindedness are sending us back to the medival ages. We need to turn back and move ahead.

the only thing neede is to provide right example before our children and everyone else and believing in the choices they make.

We need to be their guides and not their masters. And then only once more the pious motherland of ours reverberate with the chants of

"Yatra naari pujyante, ramanti tatra deavata"

Verily the gods reside, where the women are worshipped..

Amen...

Thanks for your time and patience
